We are very pleased to be hosting Dance Evolution and Dance Invasion once again this season. We have added two new locations to our festival this year to accomodate our growth and your requests for additonal festivals. We will be hosting a Dance Evolution in St. Albert in late March and a Dance Invasion in Medicine hat at a beautiful 700 seat facitlity in Mid April.

Once again we will be holding a DANCE OFF COMPETITION during the festivals for cash scholarships and trophies. We gave away over $15,000.00 dollars in cash scholarships last year for the DANCE OFF alone. The requirement to qualify for the DANCE OFF is to have received one of the top 5 marks in your specific level . The DANCE OFF will be held for groups only and the top 5 marks in each level will compete for the prize money and trophies. The top 3 scores in each level will then be presented with the cash and prizes. Depending on the amount of entries we receive for each festival we may split this into Nov/Jr and Int1/Adv. However last year this was not necessary. We will be recording the marks during the festival on white boards in the lobby so that everyone can keep track of who will be in the finals. We are hoping that this will give the students a little more incentive to do their absolute best. We also gave away thousands of dollars in cash and prizes throughout the regular festival.

Please read your rules and regulations VERY CAREFULLY as some changes have been made in the following categories. TIME LIMITS, USE OF PROPS, MEDAL STANDINGS AND STAGE DANCE. We are constantly trying to improve our festivals and these changes will make things easier for all of us.

We ensure that our festivals will be positive experience for your students.  The categories range from beginner through to advanced, so that all of your students can participate. All students receive a Bronze, Silver, Gold or High Gold medal depending on their mark. At every adjudication, we present awards for outstanding performance, most promising performance, and, to recognize the efforts of the teacher, outstanding choreography.

Scholarships will be presented in every solo category to the OUTSTANDING soloist.

You will find enclosed in your package, a poster for your studio as well as rules and regulations and entry forms. Please circle the appropriate festival and dates that you will be participating in, on your entry forms.

To expedite the process for you to receive the rough, as well as the final copy of your program, we would appreciate it if you would include your  email address.  The rough programs will be emailed to you by Feb. 15 and ALL CORRECTIONS must be in not later than  Feb 28 for the festivals held in April. The rough programs for the May festivals will be emailed by Feb 28 and corrections must be in by Mar 15. We will NOT accept late corrections . Students that are in the wrong categories will still get the opportunity to dance their routine but will NOT be eligible for awards so please read the program carefully.

Due to the rapid growth of the festivals last year we would suggest having entries in as soon as possible.  Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Entries will be accepted from Nov 15/08 – Jan 15/09.

We would like to extend a sincere “thank you” for your continued support, and we would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new studios that will be participating in the spring. All the best with your upcoming dance season.
