Our categories range from beginner through advanced to give students of all
ages and levels of dance the opportunity to participate.
Dance Invasion - All students receive a bronze, silver, high silver, gold or
high gold medal depending on their mark. At each adjudication there will be
extra achievement awards. These include Outstanding Performance, Most
Promising Performance and Adjudicators Choice. Also, in recognition of the
talent of the teacher we will be presenting Outstanding Choreography
awards in group categories. Cash scholarships are also presented to the
highest mark in every solo category.
Dance Evolution - We have incorporated a competition format. All students
receive a bronze, silver, gold or high gold medal. Also 1ST, 2ND, and 3RD
place awards will be presented, as well as Outstanding Choreography to the
teachers in group categories. Cash scholarships will be presented in solo
categories to the 1ST place recipient.
Once again we will be hosting the “Group Dance Championship
Extravaganza”. In order to qualify for these championships the groups are
required to have received one of the top 5 marks in their level at the
festival. The marks will be recorded during each festival in the lobby for
everyone to see. At the end of the festival during our award presentation,
trophies will be awarded for the qualifying contestants.
Dance Championship Finals - Red Deer June 9 + 10
** New Format - Larger Scholarships **
With all of the qualifying contestants, should they decide to attend, there
will be 20 - 25 groups in every level competing for the semi-finals. Once
a level is complete, the top 5 performances will be selected and announced
in random order. Once all of the levels are complete the top 5 groups in
each level will then perform in the finals at the end of the day for the top
prize money & awards. This is going to be the "Best of the Best" from our
festivals and we are excited to be hosting our championships in this manner!
Entries for all festivals will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis from
November 15/2011 – January 10/2012. A 5% discount (before GST) will
apply for entries received by December 1, 2011.
